- Illustrative renderings (not completed homes).
- Sold.
Buying at each stage
A completed spec home can be inspected like any resale house. One under construction gives you a chance to choose some finishes, but ask which items are already ordered. A to-be-built plan depends on renderings and specifications — read them closely and confirm what's standard versus an upgrade.
Whatever the stage, get the builder's warranty in writing and schedule independent inspections.
