A city with its own center
Downtown Kannapolis is not a satellite of anywhere. West Avenue, the ballpark and the research campus give the city a real center of gravity, and the city's own investment shaped it over the last decade.
Two counties, several school districts
The city spans Cabarrus and Rowan counties. Depending on the address, students may attend Kannapolis City Schools, Cabarrus County Schools or Rowan-Salisbury Schools. Verify by address, every time.
Housing variety
Mill-era cottages, mid-century ranches, recent subdivisions and attached homes all exist here. They differ in maintenance, lot size and jurisdiction far more than in a single 'Kannapolis price.'
Getting around
I-85 runs through the region, and the Amtrak station serves intercity trips. There's no light rail here; plan driving around your actual hours.
