Why the county line matters
County government handles property assessment, tax collection, many inspections and public records. For most addresses in Kannapolis that means Cabarrus County — but a parcel can be in Cabarrus County without being inside Kannapolis city limits, and vice versa for the Rowan portion. Always check both layers.
